چکیده

The wasteful system of flood irrigation being widely practiced for cotton production in India needs replacement by efficient systems conserving water. Cotton productivity can be boosted optimizing the nutrient and water application through modern resource conservation techniques. Therefore, a field experiment has been conducted during summer (Kharif) season year 2016 2017 to investigate consequence surface drip along with N fertilization on growth seed yield (SCY) under recently introduced high density planting (HDPS) India. having combinations 3 {60, 80 100% crop evapo-transpiration (ETc)} fertigation levels {125 (94 kg N), 100 (75 N) 75% (56 recommended dose (RDN)} control (i.e. conventional practice soil broadcasting urea as RDN i.e., 75 ha-1) complete randomized block design replicated thrice. Drip scheduled at 0.8 ETc recorded 2.5 23.2% higher SCY (2509 than 1.0 0.6 ETc, respectively. Among levels, highest (2452 kg) was observed application, whereas 56 ha-1 least. A combination elucidated 11.6, 61.5, 13.9 %, 42.9 % SCY, use efficiency, nitrogen efficiency benefit: cost ratio control, improved 7.3% over control.

Drip fertigation effects on yield, nutrient uptake and soil fertility of Bt Cotton in semi arid tropics

Field experiment was conducted for 2 seasons to study the influence of drip fertigation in combination with or without bio fertilizers on yield, plant uptake and soil fertility of Bt cotton. The treatments comprised of four levels of drip fertigation viz., 75, 100, 125 and 150 per cent of recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF, NPK) combined with and without bio fertilizers, drip irrigation w...

Lint yield and seed quality response of drip irrigated cotton under various levels of water

Restricted water resources are a limiting factor for irrigation applications throughout the world. The effects of irrigation regimes (amount) on cotton lint yield are known, but there is little information on the effect of irrigation regimes on seed quality of cotton. In this study, the effects of deficit irrigation after the onset of flowering on lint yield and seed quality of cotton (Gossypiu...

Effect of cropping system on cotton biomass accumulation and yield formation in double–cropped wheat–cotton

Wheat–cotton double cropping practices on a large scale in cotton belt of the Yellow RiverValley and the Yangtze River Valley in China. Field experiments were conducted to determinethe effects of wheat–cotton double cropping on cotton biomass accumulation and yieldformation during 2011/12 and 2012/13 growing seasons. Two cotton cultivars, Siza 3 (mid–latematurity) and CCRI 50 (early maturity), ...

Rational Water and Nitrogen Management Improves Root Growth, Increases Yield and Maintains Water Use Efficiency of Cotton under Mulch Drip Irrigation

There is a need to optimize water-nitrogen (N) applications to increase seed cotton yield and water use efficiency (WUE) under a mulch drip irrigation system. This study evaluated the effects of four water regimes [moderate drip irrigation from the third-leaf to the boll-opening stage (W1), deficit drip irrigation from the third-leaf to the flowering stage and sufficient drip irrigation thereaf...
